TIME SLOTS

This in simple terms is like “two repeaters in one repeater box” – twice the capacity as analogue.

By using half the standard 12.5kHz bandwidth, DMR TDMA allows two qso’s to happen simultaneously on a repeater. On Phoenix, Time Slot 1 is used for national and international talk groups whereas Time Slot 2 is used for local and regional talk groups. When programming the radio, you will note that certain talk groups are on different time slots.
