Please take note of the following:

Calling Channels: TG1, TG2, TG13 & TG235 are considered to be “calling” channels. One contact has been established, please make use of of the User Activated (UA) talk groups – TG119 (WorldWide UA 1), TG129 (WorldWide UA 2), TG113 (English Worldwide UA 1), TG123 (English Worldwide UA 2) or TG’s 80, 81, 82, 83 & 84 (UK Wide UA’s 1-5). This prevents tying up slot 1 on anywhere from 60 – +500 repeaters reducing resource usage (noting that many repeaters are on 4G wireless connections which are more costly than fixed internet connections).

Home Regions: Most repeaters have 1 (or more) static regional talk groups depending on the repeaters area of coverage. Note that all regional talk groups are still available on every repeater as User Activated.

Special Links: This links various repeaters and is only available on these repeaters – these talk groups are always on unless otherwise specified as “user activated”.

Hotspot Access: Various talk groups and reflectors are available via hotspots on Phoenix-F and are noted on the list.

Interlink: This column shows the network that the talk group is linked to. Phoenix UK has links into DV Scotland and Brandmeister. DV Scotland, FreeDMR and FreeSTAR have interlinks into Phoenix UK.

Reflectors: Reflectors are available to link to many UK talk groups. If you do activate one on a repeater (make accessing the talk group a priority over using a reflector), then please disconnect is using Ref 4000. Otherwise the next person to use TG9 will not know that TG9 has been linked to a reflector and could end up coming out of numerous repeaters instead of their local area.

UA Talk Group Disconnect: Whist this facility is not implemented as such on the Phoenix IPSC2 servers, it is possible to force a disconnection on a user activated TG that you yourself have initiated, without having to wait for the 15min auto-timeout. This is done by issuing a group call to TG400 (yes 400 NOT 4000) on the relevant timeslot. The caveat is that it will only disconnect a UA group that you yourself have initiated. It will NOT disconnect a UA group that was established by another user. Instead any user activated TG not opened by you, will automatically time out after 15 mins if you don’t transmit to it as usual. With hotspots using the Phoenix F server, the same applies with Talkgroups, but access to a reflector WILL release when tg4000 is called either as a group or private call. As with Brandmeister, once you’ve finished with a User Activated TG that you’ve set up, issue the disconnect command to release it from your local repeater. This will also work for hotspot users on Phoenix-F.
